World-renowned hospitality brand, Soho House, is opening a brand-new venue in Manchester next year. Expect an elegant bar and terrace, ritzy rooftop pool and dynamic co-working spaces.
Founded in 1995, Soho House has grown from a single venue above a modest French restaurant in London to a hospitality empire with establishments in 10 countries.
Its exclusive and beautifully designed spaces cater for an affluent crowd of creatives, and act as a meeting place for those active in art, politics, and media. Everyone wants a ticket—but only 200,000 members across the globe have been granted the privilege of Soho House membership.
An iconic new addition to the Manchester skyline
Now, the famous private members’ group is set to arrive in Manchester. It will be the first Soho venue to open in the north of the UK, making an exciting addition to the city.
Soho House has recently been in the spotlight after its owner and CEO, Nick Jones, announced that he would be stepping down. Following a successful battle with cancer, Jones is returning to his original role as Founder which will allow him the time to do more of what he loves. That is, designing beautiful spaces and helping people flourish in the creative industries.
In the same announcement, Nick shared an image of the new Manchester venue set to open next year. The artist’s impression features a stylish bar and rooftop pool surrounded by elegant tiling, a terrazzo-style floor and cushioned seating areas sheltered by cream canopies.
Soho House Manchester will function as a workspace by day, and a music and club venue by night. Members will pay between £600 to £1,400 per year for access to what will be one of the most sought-after spots in the city.
You’ll find this modish hangout in the new St. Johns development that is currently being constructed on Quay Street. It will cover the top three floors of the Old Granada Studios warehouse, above other Soho-owned establishments such as Mollie’s Motel & Diner and Cecconi’s Italian restaurant.
Just around the corner from the new Soho House, owners of the opulent Chinese restaurant Tattu are planning to launch a brand-new concept. Fenix restaurant will be inspired by Cycladic philosophies and modern Greek fusion cuisine and will sit in the up-and-coming Enterprise City.
With new developments emerging across the city, Manchester is starting to attract global attention. Vibrant areas like MediaCity and Ancoats are attracting top businesses and entrepreneurs, whilst a fast-growing number of students and young professionals are landing on Manchester as the place to be.
With the explosion of Manchester’s tech and creative scenes, it’s safe to say that the new Soho House will not be shy of members. You can expect more updates in the coming months as this luxury venue prepares to open its doors next year.
