Since 2006, the town has undergone a huge makeover. Millions of dollars were invested in transforming the old Yugoslavian naval base into a dazzling marina, known as Porto Montenegro. Tivat now attracts tourists from all around the world to marvel at its beautiful promenade, ritzy apartment blocks and impressive superyachts floating in the marina.

The area is one of the sunniest spots along the Bay of Kotor, boasting a rich history and dreamy waterside setting; it’s a must-visit for those travelling through the Balkan Peninsula. Whether you’re in search of luxury, a touch of beach relaxation or some outdoor adventure—you’ll find it all in Tivat, Montenegro.

Dazzling marinas, coastlines and caves

Often compared to Monaco’s Monte Carlo, the glamorous Porto Montenegro offers a huge contrast to its neighbouring towns along the coast. As you wander along the palm-lined promenade, you’ll discover a variety of luxurious boutiques, sophisticated restaurants, and many picturesque spots to enjoy a sunset cocktail.

Those in search of a little more adventure can revel in a scenic yet challenging hike along the Bay of Kotor or take a tour out to the breath-taking Blue Cave to snorkel in its glistening waters. For a shot of adrenaline, exhilarating mountain biking, paddleboarding and canyoning adventures are easily accessible from Tivat.

Exploring Montenegro and its history

While the glitz and glamour are a huge attraction to Tivat, the town still has many traces of history—from the Renaissance Summer House Buca in the centre to Ostrvo Cvijeća’s sacred monuments or the small settlement of Gornja Lastva. The town is very compact and has free street parking, so it’s very easy to get around.

Offering a central location just 5km from the airport, Tivat is also a great base to explore other popular destinations in the area including Kotor, Budva and the Lustica Peninsula, all within a 30-minute drive.

Montenegro has a temperate climate with warm, dry summers and cooler winters. The ideal time to visit is between June and August, offering blissful temperatures of around 27℃ and very little levels of rainfall.

With so much to offer, this unique and high-end destination entices investors from across the globe—with investment opportunities that are second-to-none.
